Episode 24: The Room I Didn't Know I Needed

Sometimes you don't know how badly you need a room until you're finally standing inside it.

In this deeply personal episode, Holly shares what happened during five transformative days at a women's retreat on Anna Maria Island, Florida.

She arrived expecting healing, connection and time away.

She left understanding something much bigger.

For years, Holly had often been the woman saying, “I got you.”

The strong one.

The giver.

The woman who carries, fixes, encourages and takes care of everyone else.

But during this retreat, she experienced what it felt like to be surrounded by women saying, in their own ways, “We've got you.”

Eight women from different backgrounds, cultures, ages and life experiences came together and created something difficult to describe but impossible to forget.

There was rooftop yoga, yoga on the beach, incredible meals prepared by a private chef, a yacht, dolphins, manatees, swimming at a sandbar, sound bowls, prayer, laughter and tears.

But the real experience was the women.

In this episode, Holly shares the moments that changed her perspective on sisterhood, leadership, receiving, trust and the future of Awakened Her.

She talks about hearing the words fierce and angelic within herself but being afraid to say them, only to later have another woman independently speak those exact words over her.

She shares the lesson that came through another woman at the retreat:

Not everything is your assignment.

Just because you are capable of carrying something doesn't mean it belongs to you.

She shares what happened during the retreat's final angel prayer line, when the women surrounded her, prayed over her and held space for her.

After experiencing severe knee pain for two days and wondering how she would carry her belongings down three flights of stairs, Holly woke the next morning without the pain she had been experiencing. She carried her own things downstairs and then went back to help someone else.

The night before, she didn't know how she was going to carry her own things.

The next morning, she had enough strength to help carry somebody else's.

She also shares the unexpected moment when the retreat leader stepped into the prayer line herself and Holly instinctively stepped into the open leadership position to guide the women through the moment.

What initially felt funny became something much deeper when the retreat leader later thanked Holly for guiding her through that final part of the ceremony while pouring love into her.

The episode also includes the story of a special earring lost during a beach branding shoot, the unlikely way Holly found it again on the final morning, and the few quiet minutes that gave her one last opportunity to stand at the ocean and simply say thank you.

And finally, Holly shares the emotional drive away from Anna Maria Island, repeatedly finding herself beside the retreat leader's car until the road eventually divided and they went separate directions.

One road ended.

Another began.

The Room I Didn't Know I Needed marks a deeper understanding of the Awakened Her mission:

Holding space for the woman who knows she was created for more.

Helping her remember.

Helping her step into her power.

Helping her rewrite her legacy.

The Awakened Her experience that she never knew she needed. She didn't go looking for it. It found her. And that's because God and the universe already knew she was created for more.

This episode closes with two meaningful pieces of Holly's music.

First, a brief callback to Checked In, the song that happened to be playing as she crossed the bridge toward the retreat and heard the words, “Welcome. You have now checked in to your abundance timeline.”

Then Holly shares the deeper meaning behind Paperweight, a song inspired by the painful “letters” life sometimes hands us: diagnosis, divorce, bankruptcy, eviction, rejection, loss or any moment that threatens to weigh down our hopes and dreams.

But the same object that can represent weight can also represent power.

A stone in David's hand looked small until it faced a giant.

The question becomes:

What are you already holding?

What has God already placed in your hands?

And what might happen if you finally use it?
